I’ve spent decades doing this work.
The path from working on your life to actually living it isn’t always clear.
I’m Ava Skov.
I’ve been passionate about ongoing personal development for as long as I can remember. And along the way I co-founded several successful companies. A huge part of building those was so that we could raise our kids without missing their childhoods, which worked. We even took it a step further they grew up in the jungles of Mexico and on the beaches of Australia.
From the outside it looked spectacular. It was far from it. After years of abuse and infidelity, with the help of a coach, I finally got strong enough to get out.
After the marriage ended, the abuse only escalated and everything I’d spent 20 years building was taken away. The companies. The money. The home. With two exceptions (thankfully the most important ones): my kids, and what I’d spent a lifetime learning about how people actually change.
I had two options, give up, or rebuild from scratch. I decided that this time, I would build with intention and follow my passion (and my expertise!).
Helping women navigate uncertainty and change to build a life they truly love.
It’s been the most fulfilling and transformative work I’ve ever done.
You’ve probably already done the work.
Most of the women I work with are not at the beginning of anything. They’ve been to therapy. They’ve done the seminars, the retreats, the books, the modalities. They know their patterns and they’ve made peace with a lot of their history.
If healing were a degree, they’d have a PhD in it.
And somewhere along the way, the healing stopped being a season and quietly became the whole identity. Always working on herself. Never quite stepping off into the life all that work was supposed to be for.
Sometimes there’s a specific thing that brings it to a head: facing a big decision point, a business she’s outgrown, a role that’s ending, children grown and gone, a decision she’s been circling for months. Sometimes there’s nothing dramatic at all. Just a life that doesn’t fit anymore, like a house she’s outgrown but hasn’t worked out how to leave.
And burning it all down is often not even the best path forward. Our work together is finding the best answers and solutions for your specific situation and the life you will be excited to get up to each day.
If any of that lands, we’ll get along well.
At some point you stop working on your healing and start working on your living.
Healing is a lifelong thing. I’m not suggesting you’re finished, and I’d be suspicious of anyone who told you that. But there’s a whole life available to you while it carries on, and a lot of women are waiting for a finish line that was never going to arrive.
What’s usually underneath it isn’t more to process. It’s that after years of overriding your own instincts, you don’t quite trust yourself yet. So you second-guess. You circle back. You talk yourself out of things.
You already have most of what you need. My job isn’t to pile more on top. It’s to help you clear what’s in the way and trust what’s underneath.
I’m on your side, and I’ll still say the hard thing.
I’ll meet you where you are, and I won’t flinch when it matters. If I think you’re talking yourself out of something, I’ll say so, kindly and out loud.
I am a certified Results Coach. I also count what I’ve lived through as a credential; you don’t learn from a course what it takes to dismantle a life and build a truer one.
Depth is contagious when someone is brave enough to start it.
There’s no pitch here.
If you want to know whether this is for you, the best way to find out is to talk. That’s a real conversation about where you are. And if I’m not the right person, I’ll tell you.
